APD District Rep for NVaWO:
Officer D.A. Kinley 974-4281
Vehicle break-ins are the
top source of crime in our neighborhood. Please
take all personal items with you when you leave your vehicle and lock
your doors!
Ways to reduce your risk of crime:
-
Lock your doors and windows, even
when you are at home
-
Install "second-stage" locks on
windows and sliders if you want to leave them partially open
-
Park your car in the garage, if
possible. Otherwise, remove tempting items from view and lock the
car doors.
-
Upgrade your garage remote-control
to a "rolling-code" system
-
If you have a security system, use
it
When away on vacation:
-
Replace the garage door button with
a lockable pad, and set it to "locked", or consider unplugging the
garage door opener
-
Consider asking a trusted neighbor
to keep an eye on your house
-
Install lamps/radios on timers to
give the illusion somebody is home
-
If you have a security system, use
it
-
Have your newspaper delivery
suspended or ask a neighbor to pick them up off of the driveway
